Rebranding from Penny Lindop Designs to Papersheep
Hello and welcome to my blog post,
For those of you who have been with us for a few years now, you will know that this business was started by Penny Lindop back in 1998 and after about 15 years, it became Penny Lindop Designs. Penny's first designs were sheep cards and these remain a firm favourite with you - she always loved sheep and their beautiful wool and came up with the ingenious idea of adding wool to her quirky and delicate watercolour and ink drawings. This idea took off and her designs expanded to include many more animals, birds, flowers and pets.
I used to work with Penny as her bookkeeper after spending 20 years in the Royal Air Force and whilst I knew her suppliers, stockists and how the business worked, I was not a maker of cards! That all changed when Penny decided to sell her business and retire; initially, I assumed that someone would buy the business, perhaps from outside Norfolk, but after a few months I slowly thought about buying it myself. Finally, in May 2019, the business was moved from the cabins in Penny's garden to a studio in Snetterton and I did a lot of learning about card production!
It's been a fantastic journey and I now print the larger cards and pictures in the studio and we all get involved in hand finishing them. New designs are brought out in a similar style and I attend trade and retail shows. After coping with the Covid pandemic and all of the issues that came with it, I felt I had put my mark on the business and wanted to change the name to a more generic one, whilst also paying respect to its' origins, hence Papersheep.
I hope you like the new name and thank you for your continued support.
